$100,000-$130,000 (commensurate with experience)THE ROLE and
responsibilitiesIt is an inspiring and meaningful time to join the
UC Law San Francisco Advancement Team. As we undertake the largest
fundraising campaign in the College's history, we seek a Major
Gifts Officer to raise critical funds from alumni and friends of
the College to enhance UC Law SF's ability to impact the legal
profession, expand opportunities for students, and fuel innovation
through cutting-edge research and programs.Reporting to the Chief
Advancement Officer, the Major Gifts Officer focuses on managing
and developing a portfolio donors. Essential functions include:
- Managing a portfolio of 125-150 current, lapsed, and
prospective major and principal gift donors through the donor cycle
- identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship, focusing on donors with the capacity to make five- to
seven- figure gifts.
- Working with the Chief Development Officer and Director of
Philanthropy, as needed, to maintain a fluid and viable prospect
portfolio.
- Partnering and collaborating with members of the Advancement
team, College leadership and faculty, and other internal members of
the UC Law SF community to remain current on and share key College
initiatives and updates with donors, advancing solicitation and
stewardship strategies.
- Participating in events throughout the year including
institutional signature events (e.g., Convocation, Swearing-In
Ceremony, Chancellor's Reception), Spring Week, Alumni Chapter and
Affinity Group events, and other events presenting opportunities
for donor engagement and cultivation.
- Memorializing and documenting all communications and
interactions with donors by entering timely contact reports into
the Raiser's Edge NXT donor database.
- Other related responsibilities as
assigned.REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree, with preference for candidates who have
advanced degrees.
- 3+ years of progressive and successful experience in
relationship-based major gifts.
- Proven success in securing major gifts and increasing donor
support and engagement.
- Commitment to UC Law San Francisco's vision to prepare its
graduates to tackle modern legal challenges.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Stellar relationship building skills and ability to build
rapport with internal and external.
- Ability to travel locally and nationally.
