Enable Internet businesses to sell across bordersWe're tackling a key challenge for all Internet businesses today: navigating the changing landscape of tax. In recent years, software businesses have transitioned from not worrying about sales tax to needing to monitor exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.The online economy has grown 6x over the last decade, and software development productivity continues to accelerate. Anrok is building the tools that enable compliant digital commerce for companies of all sizes.Anrok connects billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.As Anrok's first People Partner, you will build and oversee the people function during a critical growth phase. You'll establish processes from scratch to foster a high-performance work culture that promotes growth for each team member. This role offers an opportunity to shape the employee experience and build a world-class culture, reporting to the COO and collaborating closely with the leadership team.In this role, you will
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support our growth
- Manage employee performance, including establishing career frameworks, performance plans, and talent evaluations
- Partner with managers to improve team performance and address people-related matters
- Create and manage compensation frameworks aligned with market standards and company values
- Drive the success of Anrok's benefits program
- Support international employees with immigration and visa processes
- Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and cultural activities
- Lead company offsites and onsite events to strengthen team cohesion
- Advise leadership on people-related issues
- Establish HR systems and tools for efficient operations and data-driven decisions
- Ensure compliance with employment laws across all locationsWhat Excites Us

- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance
- Experience with international immigration and visa support
