Job Description:
Walmart Inc., a leading multinational retail giant, is looking
for a Distinguished Data Scientist to lead innovative projects
within our Data Science & AI department. This role is pivotal in
leveraging data science capabilities to drive decisions and
strategies that enhance customer experiences, optimize our supply
chain, and increase operational efficiencies across our extensive
retail operations. Situated at our headquarters in Bentonville,
Arkansas, this position offers the successful candidate an
opportunity to work on large-scale data sets in a dynamic and
collaborative environment. Drawing upon robust analytics and
machine learning expertise, the Distinguished Data Scientist will
deliver actionable insights and deploy advanced predictive models
to maintain Walmart's competitive edge in the retail sector.
Develop and deploy sophisticated predictive models and advanced
algorithms that solve complex problems and improve operational
efficiencies. Lead cross-functional teams in the design,
development, and deployment of data-driven solutions. Drive the
collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of new data sources and
oversee the integration with existing data infrastructure.
Establish scalable, efficient processes for large scale data
analyses, model development, model validation, and model
implementation. Advocate for the importance of data-driven
decision-making and analytics strategies across all levels of the
organization. Monitor data science trends, emerging tools, and
technologies, ensuring Walmart stays ahead in analytics
applications in retail. Expertise in statistical software (R,
Python, SQL) Strong experience with machine learning and AI
technologies Ability to handle large-scale data sets Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent leadership and
