Mammography Tech Location: Redwood City, CA Agency: United Health Care Staffing Pay: $72 to $80 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position Location: Redwood City, CA Start Date: 04-13-2026 End Date: 07-13-2026 Shift Type: Rotating day/evening 10-hour shifts — typical start times 7:00 AM (ends 5:00 PM), 11:00 AM (ends 9:00 PM) or 3:00 PM (ends 1:00 AM). Primarily day-oriented schedule with weekend and holiday call/standby as needed; candidates should expect occasional weekend coverage. Roles & Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic mammography and tomosynthesis exams with care and attention to image quality Operate imaging equipment (mammography, tomosynthesis, CT/Ultrasound as applicable) safely and according to protocols Partner with radiologists and care teams to prioritize ER and inpatient imaging needs while managing scheduled outpatients Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner and provide required CE documentation and mammography numbers Adhere to radiation safety and quality assurance standards and maintain equipment checks Provide compassionate patient education and positioning to ensure a comfortable, respectful exam experience Qualifications Active ARRT (M) — Certified Mammography Technologist Active ARRT (R) or equivalent Radiologic Technologist certification State of California Mammography Certification (active) — required BLS (Basic Life Support) — required Minimum of 2 years’ relevant mammography/tomosynthesis experience and CE units as noted Experience with Cerner EMR or similar charting systems Tomography training, CT proficiency (Siemens 64/128) and ARDMS are strong pluses Fluoroscopy permit, venipuncture skills, and OR experience are desirable COVID vaccination documentation as required by facility Education Radiologic Technologist credential (ARRT) and active State of California Mammography Certification High school diploma or equivalent; additional formal imaging education preferred Ongoing CEUs in mammography/tomosynthesis as required Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of mammography and tomosynthesis techniques and image quality Familiarity with Cerner EMR workflows and accurate electronic charting Experience with Siemens CT scanners (64/128 slice) and Phillips ultrasound equipment Patient scheduling and triage for ER/inpatient and outpatient imaging Radiation safety, QA procedures, and regulatory documentation Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care environment with multidisciplinary teams Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage to keep you healthy and smiling 401(k) retirement savings plan to help you plan for your future Paid time off so you can recharge (because life happens outside the hospital) Licensure assistance & reimbursement to help keep your credentials current Generous continuing education support — perfect for CEU tracking and growth A supportive, collaborative radiology team that values your skills Scrubs provided on-site so you can travel light Referral bonus program — bring a friend and earn rewards Travel Perks: Explore Redwood City, CA Explore the best of the Peninsula during your assignment: stroll Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City for dining and live events, visit Filoli Historic House & Garden in nearby Woodside, hike the trails at Edgewood Park or Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve, enjoy waterfront activities at Coyote Point, or take a short drive to Half Moon Bay beaches and scenic coastal trails.
