Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Location: Hayward, CA Agency: Bluebix Health Inc Pay: $40 to $43 per hour Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 7 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Shift: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Contract Weeks: 13 Guaranteed Hours: 35 Job Summary The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic services that help patients improve daily living and functional skills. COTAs support patients recovering from injury, illness, or disability to achieve greater independence and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and feeding Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility Train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Occupational Therapist Document treatments and patient responses in EMR/EHR systems Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques and home programs Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Required Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Active COTA certification/license in the state of practice Certification from NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) preferred Current BLS certification Strong communication and patient care skills
