Experience: Minimum 3 years of clinical experience required, with
at least 3 years in the specialty. License: Current nursing license
required. Certifications: ACLS, NRP, Fetal assessment required.
Must-Have: - Strong experience in Labor & Delivery. - Ability to
assist with high-risk pregnancies. - Competence in fetal heart
monitoring. - Autonomy in performing vaginal exams. Description: We
are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor &
Delivery. The unit includes LDR beds, operating rooms, and
antepartum rooms. The average number of deliveries per month is
240. Candidates should have experience working in high-acuity
settings. The nurse-patient ratio will vary from 1:1 to 1:4, based
on patient acuity. Nurses are expected to circulate in the
operating room, but not scrub. Travelers may float to additional
units as necessary for patient care. Staffing includes a unit clerk
and a dedicated surgical tech on each shift. Advanced Practice
staff includes Nurse Midwives available 24/7, along with Anesthesia
and Pediatric support. Neonatologists are present every day of the
week and on-call 24 hours. The hospital requires nurses to dress in
provided scrubs with a professional appearance. Nurses must be
available for a minimum of four weekend shifts per schedule.
Holiday coverage includes two out of three major winter holidays
and two out of three summer holidays. The patient population
includes high-risk cases, such as diabetics, pre-eclampsia, and
advanced maternal age. Candidates should possess critical thinking
skills and the ability to manage complex clinical situations. All
candidates must be up-to-date on their skills and ready to provide
exceptional care in a dynamic environment.
