The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.Education:

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing RequiredExperience:
  • 6 Months Nursing - Acute Care Preferred
  • 2000 hours Nursing - Acute Care Must be Obtained Within last 3 years - Non-core Requirement
  • 1000 hours Nursing - Critical Care Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Non-core Requirement Certifications/Licensures:
    • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
    • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
    • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required
    • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018) Required
    • Nursing - Stroke/TPA Patient Experience Core Requirement
    • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification - Achieved by the end of orientation to the assigned area Required
    • NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Competency - Successful completion on an annual basis Required
    • Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) - Required Skills: Non-Core:
      • 2000 hours Nursing - Acute Care Must be Obtained Within last 3 years - Non-core Requirement
      • 1000 hours Nursing - Critical Care Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Non-core Requirement
      • National Institute of Health Stroke Certification (NIH) Must be Obtained within 12 months of hire - Non-core Requirement
      • Demonstrates competency in the application or use of cardiac pharmacology, vasoactive therapy, titration and regulation of multiple vasoactive agents, temporary, permanent, and transcutaneous pacemakers, and emergency interventions, including defibrillation.
      • Must meet clinical core qualifications within one year. Work Shift: 12.0 - 19:00 - 08:00 No Waive (United States of America)Pay Range:$77.04 - $104.97 Hourly Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area . Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.
